As you become a successful affiliate you will have the need to build a team to assist you. To effectively work as a team you will want to use online collaboration tools. Here are some of the online tools I use, have used and others I’m evaluating. Please note that these tools are not specific to internet marketing, They could potentially be helpful for any dynamic small or large business looking to improve their collaboration efforts.
1) Online Collaboration Tools, I use:
- Email (ok I’m old school)
- Skype (mostly free)
Skype is excellent for voice and chat type communications. I like that you can search chat logs. It lacks the concept of permanent groups or project based groups. - Google Docs (free)
Good tool to share documents with others. It does become cumbersome with many ongoing projects based documents of various importance. - Teamlab (good free version)
Young tool, full of promise, to manage projects. Main concern, is how long it will be around. Does not always fit how I work. - Basecamp (has free version?)
I used this tool, to manage software development. Not that great. This type of software needs some kind of “ready for testing” feature. Since “ToDo” tasks go directly in the “Done” hole , I find it really hard to appropriately validate the work performed. - Camtasia Studio (paid software)
I use this software to create all sorts of videos (tutorials etc…) for the people I work with or even on this site 😉
- SEOMoz Pro (free 30 day trial)
Online tools to help track SEO results. - shareflow (free version)
Online tools to support team work. 11/15/2011 update: It appears this tool is not very active anymore. Without the email notification of new posts it is not very valuable for me. - Dabbleboard(free to start)
Shared whiteboard application
